İnceğiz Cave Monastery

These caves are on the south side of İnceğiz (41.181763, 28.403906), about 8km north-west of Çatalca. Archaeological evidence suggests that they have been inhabited since at least 5000BC but the structures that are most obvious were carved out of the rock in Byzantine times. The church on the second storey appears to date from the 11th or 12th century.
